‘Private Practice’s’ Kate Walsh Developing Semi-Autobiographical Comedy at NBC

The Numbers and Rescue Me actress has sold a semi-autobiographical comedy to NBC based on her best-selling memoir Kissing Outside the Lines, The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively.

Published in September, Kissing explores Farr’s marriage to a Korean-American, with the pitch revolving around an Italian girl and a Korean guy who fall in love in California despite their parents, who will do anything to stop their relationship. Tested by race, culture and a generational divide, the single-camera comedy will be set inside a Venice Beach bar.

Will Private Practice’s Sheldon find love in the end?

NUMB3RS and Rescue Me alum Diane Farr has landed a multi-episode arc on the final season of Private Practice, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively.

Farr will first appear in the Sheldon-centric Dec. 11 episode as Miranda, though details on her role are being kept under wraps. Considering she’ll also appear in the series finale, we’re guessing (and hoping) this means she’ll form a bond with the unlucky-in-love psychiatrist.

Farr, who has previously worked for Private creator Shonda Rhimes on Grey’s Anatomy, most recently had roles on Desperate Housewives and White Collar.
